Happy Halloween Weekend-BOO!
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and it is Monday, so that gives us permission to celebrate the entire weekend. Sunday night suppers with black squid pasta, coupled with lobster, or vodka pasta sauce. Black rice just arrived from Italy, eggplant and pepper sauce is great with this. Fancy Wild Rice longer than most is delicious. Blood orange dried crisps, and of course not to forget the Blood Orange Olive Oil.
My new favorite drink-just a shot of this will keep the goblins away. Love the other Halloween cocktail drinks you can buy now, black vodka and green vodka in a clear skull bottle…the merchants were busy creating product for the season!
How to prepare for Thanksgiving recipes is coming our way in every newspaper and magazine. Here are some of our favorites. Squash soup with a drizzle of pumpkin seed oil. They are from Austria Styrian pumpkins and the seeds are black. Just advertised in the Boston Globe food section this week.
If you make duck…love the tart cherry and apple and rosemary glaze…customers last year bought it for their turkey too…
What to bring as a hostess gift. Perfect for leftover turkey sandwiches, apple caramelized onion spread and pumpkin butter. We have apple butter too, low in sugar. Last year it was a big seller.

For the mushroom lover, black truffles are added to salt, honey, olive oil, balsamic glaze, artisan ketchup, polenta and sauce for your perfect pasta.
I made this cheesecake from my friend’s cookbook. I used the cinnamon from Vietnam that is delicious. Author Meredith Underwood has a book only for cheesecakes. A savory cheesecake with olive oil is next on my list to make.
