Tasting Notes & Origin

Whites

2021 Envidiacochina Albarino, Rias Baixas

A traditional, biodynamic albariño wine crafted from 30-year-old vines grown on granitic soils and aged six months. 100% of the grapes from the vineyard of long-time wine maker Eladio Piñeiro.

Tasting Notes: Bright & zesty, with fresh lime, tart orange, briny ocean tones & lemongrass.

2022 Celler Pardas “Rupestris,” Penedes

Certified organic, fermented and aged for six months in 100-year-old concrete vats with grapes from cuttings of old vines. The vineyard surrounds an old medieval farm.

Tasting Notes: Full-bodied & bright with a complex finish. Vibrant nose of tart orange, stony minerality, citrus peel, wild fennel, a touch of menthol & lemongrass.

2022 Los Bermejo Malvasia Volcanica, Lanzarote, Canary Islands

Made with 100% sustainably farmed Malvasia Volcanica, a grape unique to the island of Lanzarote. A volcanic explosion that lasted from 1730-1736 covered the entire island in lava and ash 3-5 meters deep — each vine must be planted in a hole that breaks through the infertile volcanic crust of petrified lava to the organic matter that can nourish it & each hole is surrounded by rock walls for protection from extreme wind.

Tasting Notes: Full-bodied, fruity & lively, with a complex blend of tangerine, peach & lime blossoms, a base of volcanic minerality, a touch of wild fennel & floral tones.

Reds

2020 Coto de Gomariz Souson “La Flor y La Abeja,” Ribeiro

Made with 100% Sousón grapes, hand harvested, fermented in stainless steel and barrel-aged for four months. Progressive winemaker and owner Ricardo Carreiro farms biodynamically in the Avia River Valley in Galicia, using only native varieties and following a non-interventionist style.

Tasting Notes: Balanced and fresh. Fruit-driven with floral and red fruit aromas.

2021 Quinta Milu Rioja “La Bicicleta Voladora”

“The Flying Bicycle.” Made with fruit from certified organic, dry farmed vineyards in the Navarra part of the appellation. Grapes are transported to the winery, de-stemmed and fermented in cold temperatures from native yeasts. A slight maceration before the end of fermentation helps to make a delicate and fresh wine.

Tasting Notes: Delicate & refreshing, with bright purple fruit and a hint.

2021 Sierra de Tolono Rioja Tinto, Rioja Alavesa

From a small, woman-owned winery. Sandra Bravo works with some of the highest altitude vineyards in Rioja, with plots of very old vines, harvesting multiple varieties of delicate, pure wines from micro-terroirs over many small plots of Viura, Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano.

Tasting Notes: Deep & full-bodied, with cherries, raspberry, Rioja spice tones, stony minerality, tobacco leaf, and oak.
